Biography

Ahmad Tafazzoli was a prominent Iranian scholar, linguist, and professor at the University of Tehran. On January 14, 1997, he was killed in a suspicious manner while traveling from his university office to his home in Shemiran. His assassination is documented as part of the Chain Murders, a series of political killings targeting Iranian intellectuals and dissidents.

احمد تفضلی پژوهشگر، مترجم، زبان‌شناس و استاد برجسته دانشگاه تهران بود. او در ۲۴ دی ۱۳۷۵ در مسیر بازگشت از دانشگاه به منزل خود در شمیران، به طرزی مشکوک در خیابان به قتل رسید. وی یکی از قربانیان قتل‌های زنجیره‌ای سیاسی در ایران محسوب می‌شود که هدف آن حذف فیزیکی دگراندیشان و روشنفکران بود.
